    Anna has just gone down cross lots and alone to Jane's and I am to go with the horse and bring her home - I would have gone with her only we were anxious a letter should be written today to you. Anna has been much better this fall but now for a couple of weeks or so she has felt more poorly. She was very anxious to try a walk over to Lewis' and went without saying anything to anyone except me and she promised to turn back if the walking was very bad - we hope she will be no worse for it. Sarah and mother are pretty busy now days taking care of the apples - they rot so fast this year that we have a good deal of trouble
