note top left: Keen X Friday April 30th 1875 This has been a beautiful sunny day. all of us well I sewed on Shreve,s pants, Eva gone to Belle,s to spend the afternoon. Ada and I went calling. went to see Mrs W K Turner Mrs Kimbark, Mrs Thomasson, and Belle. brought Eva home, after tea Mrs F Tuttle called so did Mrs Wiley Keen X Maria Hamilton Keen has a baby a week old. She married 7 months, to night there is a sharp North wind and it has turned cold. Saturday May 1,st 1875 Snow + This has been a funny day, all of us well. it has been raining and at noon commenced to snow. and has continued all day. My boys are all at home making balls. after dinner Ada Sheridan & Tom all went strikeout to hear or /to see the five pictures at the exhibition I had Shreve,s hair cut very short, but it will soon grow out, Sunday May 2nd 1875 This has been a lovely day all of us well. I went to church with Ada Shreve and Thomas Shreve, then called to see Belle. her baby well. after dinner Belle & Mr Harvey came up to see Eva. Mr Badger and myself went home with them to tea. Mr Angell Eva and Hunt went out Sheridan driving, Gen Sheridan is to be married to Miss Rucker Monday May 3rd This has been a rainy day. all of my family well. after lunch I went with Ada Eva and Mr Badger to see the beautiful paintings at the exposition building, we staid a long time Ada was sketching some of Madame Hague, & flowers. we then went to Kosson Milliner and Field & Leiters it still rains. Tuesday May 4th 1875 This has been a bright day but cool. Went out riding all of us well. Ada & I made several calls, called on Mrs Colby, Mrs Davis & Farlies, Hoyne, & then went to see Belle she and her family all right, Belle and her baby came to see us Mr Nichol also called to see strikeout Eva, Pauline Gabler Hunts old Nurse came to say good bye as she will sail for Europe in a few days to return to her Mother, as she is sick.
