Pauline 16  Friday April 16, 1875  It has been very cold all day. everything frozen all my family well but Kermit, he is still coughing very much but is better, Pauline has gone home sick with chills and fever. I went shopping to day with Eva, I received two letters one from Belle and the other from Mr Kearney. They were at Niagara. Belle is gaining strength fast, and is confident the trip will do her good. Ada gone with Miss Farnsworth to the Literary club of Mr Waters. which she belongs to.  Saturday April 17, 1875  This is a very cold day. all of us well, but Kermit whose cold is much better, Mrs Crapster came this morning and it was snowing fast. so baby did not go out. about eleven O, clock Belle's baby Belle Badger was taken very sick with fever sick stomach and severe cold. she acts as if her throat was sore. I sent for the Doctor. he did not come and I sent again and he came at seven O,clock and left her medicine, she is threatened with Pneumonia I expect we will have a bad night with her. Ada went this afternoon to a concert with the Misses Otis. Mrs Leiter came to day to see me. she sails on the second of June  Sunday April 18, 1875  It is beautiful and sunny to day. the weather has moderated some, all my family are well. Kermit almost free of his cough. Belle's baby is better this morning. but still with fever and cough. Ada and Shreve gone to church Mr Badger gone to his Father,s Eva and Mr Angell going to take a drive, Mrs Dibble has her first child a son four weeks old, all night last night Maggie and I were up with the baby, she could not rest an hour quiet  Monday April 19, 1875  This morning began sunny and beautiful. but at one O, clock the wind changed and a North wind sprang up. and it became cold and to night it is pouring rain, Kermit is coughing. very much, all the rest well  Dr Small came to see baby. she is threatened with Pneumonia I went to see Mrs Crapster at Mr Kearney,s then returned home, quite a storm of wind and rain has come up. I received a letter from Belle in New York she is feeling well. but not very strong, she is at the Windsor Hotel and enjoys it, her boys took supper with us.
