Sunday Oct 11th 1863. This is a lovely day -- we all well but Sheridan & baby -- none of us went to church . last friday Julia Sullivan sent a note to me saying she was ill and wished I would come and see her. I did so and found her very low with consumption -- which she has had many years. I went twice to see her to day -- she could scarce speak -- and at twelve O. clock at night she died. poor Julia had a hard time -- sick for many years, and yet toiling for her living -- she was once seamstress for me--
