I went to Trinity Church and took my three girls with me. Mrs Parsons called -- Mr Badger gone to dine with Mr Hunt Walter came to see us. after tea Mr Hilton & Licinia came in and spent evening with us. Mr Badger went with Walter and Rev Thomas on top of new Unitarian Church. Mr & Mrs Heiskell went to Rock. Island, | |||

Mrs S. S. Hayes called -- it rained very fast this morning after dinner I went with Sheridan to the Tremont Hotel to see Mr Hunt -- who leaves for Louisville to night. Rev Thomas and Willie Heiskell spent the evening with us. | |||
Saturday Aug 8th | |||
It is very hot weather. we suffer from heat -- all the children have gone to take their bath. after dinner Belle. Eva. Ada and Sheridan went down street -- after tea we had a severe rain. with Light[[e?]]ning and thunder. | |||
Sunday Aug 9th | |||
It is again very warm. but I went heat and sun to church with Mr Badger and the four children to Mr Ryders church to hear Rev Hill. Mr Bigelow dined with us -- also Father Badger Eddie Cutts and Albert. at four O. clock. it poured rain and cooled the air a little. Received letters from home. William Heiskell & Eddie took tea with us. | |||

It is again very warm -- we all in health. Hannah did not come. at four O. clock it poured rain. | |||

It is cool and pleasant this morning. Louisa came to see us. Hannah not come. Mrs Flint called to write us to her house to morrow. Willie Heiskell spent coming with us. |

Monday Aug 3rd 1863.
It is beautiful to day -- the air is cool -- at twelve O. clock. I sent for a Hack. and the three children of my coloured woman Matilda went visiting. Ella called -- Virginia went riding in an open carriage.
Teusday Aug 4th
After breakfast I went down street. Mr Hunt came to see me. we all quite well. it grows very warm. Sister gone riding.
Wednesday Aug 5th
I ordered a Carriage. and took my two boys with me. and went out to the west end to Father Badgers and brought Mr & Mrs Heiskell in to dinner. after dinner she and I called to see Licinia -- at six I ordered an open Carriage and took Mr & Mrs Heiskell and their son William to drive.
