It is a very bad day - I went to Christ Church and took all five children. I had my baby baptised. he cried when Mr Craik took him we named him Alphus Shreve - Dr Rogers came to see sister Virginia's boy James - we fear he is taking scarlet fever - we received news to day from Sister Belle that her children are better - but she is now taking the disease herself, and has been very sick all day - I wrote her a long letter - we all well |

Saturday continued
Ada danced a hornpipe well. Sheridan wore a Zouave dress full of gilt buttons on pants & shirt - he looked fine - he is only over three years old and danced a fancy dance - the Polka he also danced all the Quadrilles - without mistake - after we returned home children went to Prathers to Tea.
Sunday Dec 20th 1862
It is a very bad day - I went to Christ Church and took all five children.
