I [[?]] your favour of the 25th Ultimate & Note the Contents I sent you the [[Inv o?]] of Clothing & from the Towns of Brighton & Groton with the Clothing - & now enclose Invo of the Clothing from Norwich forwarded by [[Cas?]] Perkins | I [[?]] your favour of the 25th Ultimate & Note the Contents I sent you the [[Inv o?]] of Clothing & from the Towns of Brighton & Groton with the Clothing - & now enclose Invo of the Clothing from Norwich forwarded by [[Cas?]] Perkins £4724 - Besides Packing Cask & c - I should have sent it Before but the Committee Cannot make it out [[?]] they had made up the Whole of the Cloth [[Rouard?]] in the Rest? of the Clothing from this Town they Intend to Deliver by the 2d Inst - it is Probable there will be a Surplus of shirts - if it should be the Case should be glad to know if you will enable me to Buy them - I wrote you the 28th Sept. that I had engaged 4 doz Cartons Hatts - 3 dz Beaver & a1000 felt & Desire to Know if you [[w..?]] have me Buy more & Coud help me to pay for them but have not had the pleasure of your Answer - I shall have a little more money to pay for the Hatts Engaged when I Can get the money on the [[?]] but have not [[R..d?]] any as yet & have Promissd the Whole for those Hatts the 1st of Nov - therefore that not safe to Engage any more until the order was Settled - I did not Review any Hatts Before the 1st Inst - Gen Huntington wrote me to know if you had ordrd the Soldier Hatts Bound he seemed to wish to have them so if the Expense want Great he also Desird to have a Beaver Hatt for himself Therefore - I wrote him I had no order to Bind them nor did I know the Expense - as I did not know what to bind them with I suppose white Tape Might answer - I told him I wont save him a Hatt if it was agreable to you - if you want home made Cloth (Woolen) I Believe I Can Buy some (as I have been offerd Considerable) & I had the [[Needful?]] & knew what kind was wanted & the [[R..?]] younger in general am [[DSert?]] your Most Humble Servant | ||
