To day is cloudy. yesterday was beautiful. [[unclear]] Mary Goodloe spent day with us. and her two daughters, they nearly grown. Lillie 13. and Lullu 12. They go to Mr [[Henowley?]] school. Thursday Oct 8th 1874 This is a bright sunny day all well but Virginia she is a great invalid, after breakfast I called to see Dr Heulcer 105 Jefferson Street. he was out. Miss Lollie Shrone called to see me so did Miss Gordon. I bought a new pair of shoes for | Thursday Oct 8th 1874 This is a bright sunny day all well but Virginia she is a great invalid, after breakfast I called to see Dr Heulcer 105 Jefferson Street. he was out. Miss Lollie Shrone called to see me so did Miss Gordon. I bought a new pair of shoes for Hunt. When we got home Dr Heulcer called and he was glad to see us. We took dinner and at two o clock she strated for the Depot. My sisters two carriages wer at the door and all went to the [[bank?]] with us. My Father came down too. Sister Belle sent boxes of candy to my boys and Grandma sent them money. We said good by and departed Mattic Faulds and James wanted very much to visit with us | ||

We travelled all night delightully. had the drawing room on a pullman car and had a great deal of attention from Mr Wilson and coloured Charlie Johnson. We reached chicago at seven o clock in the morning. Walked from the 22 street depot up to our house. everything there looks well. found all the family in bed but Sheridan, breakfast was [[unclear]] ready. | We travelled all night delightully. had the drawing room on a pullman car and had a great deal of attention from Mr Wilson and coloured Charlie Johnson. We reached chicago at seven o clock in the morning. Walked from the 22 street depot up to our house. everything there looks well. found all the family in bed but Sheridan, breakfast was [[unclear]] ready. |
