Rebels in the vicinity & at night crossed the river for protection | ||
Monday, 27. Went back to the other side & spent the forenoon mainly taking on the plunder of the negroes & then moved down the river & at American Bend found the other steamers. Saw Rebs at Greenville & other places. In the vicinity of Lake Washington found a large number of negroes. At night anchored in the stream | |||
