Clear cold day.
Sunday February 4
Took a bath in the morning and then went [[unclear]] church and heard Dr Wilson preach. Wrote a long letter to __________. Read over some of my old letters. [[Unclear]] up my old stove pipe hat. At [[unclear]] went with Sherman to the Methodist Church. Had some [[unclear several words]] stopped at the house and [[unclear]] [[staid?]] until the present 10 o clock and am now about to retire.

- Wrote a long letter to Rod over some of very old letters .Hunted up my old stove pipe hat. At night went with Sherman to the Methodist church. Had some [[unclear]] there [unclear]] stopped at the house and I staied until the until the funeral 10 o'clock and am now about to retire
