Written by Irma Bregstone for the "observer" in 1917. Age 12.

My Experience with the C.H. I. Gym. If you girls knew how I benefited by the C.H.I. Gym during the last eighteen months, I am quite sure you would now be benefiting in the same way. My friends told me that I was "clumsy", but that if I received the proper in- structions, I would be able to dance fairly well. Since joining the gym, my friends tell me that I am actually becoming graceful. Be that as it may, I have never been called clumsy since joining the gym. Besides dancing, we have exercises and apparatus work, which has helped make me a strong girl. There are two large gymnasiums fitted out with all kinds of apparatus, one for the boys and one for the girls. We also have a racing track and four dressing rooms, one for the boys, one for themed, one for the girls, and one for the women. With such a magnificent Institution and under the guiding spirit of so splendid an instructor as Miss Gertrude Pochter, who can fail to benefit? Mis Pochter was once a member of the C.H.I. Gym. herself. There can be no question as to what benefits she derived from the Chicago Hebrew Institute Gymnasium. Let us try, girls, to follow in her footsteps. I hope that you will remember the saying, "Save your health, and join the gym," and that the next time you pass the Chicago Hebrew Institute, you will think of how the gym has improved me physi- cally, and that you will become a member, so as to have the chance of being improved by the C. H. I. Gym.

The following novel entertainment and program has been arranged by Mrs. Ph. Bregstone with a dance to follow for the children, a a souvenir for every child.
