I begin a new chapter today. There twelve clean blank pages before me; but there is only One who knows the thoughts & and the sentiments that I may give them from time to time. Only my hand will trace out these lines with forthcoming words. And yet, with Him to [[unclear]] me, I do not fear to undertake it; & this makes the approaching task [[particularly]]? a pleasant one to me. Going forward, I shall fill out each leaf & [[unclear]] it back, just as we all do with the leaves of our everyday life. Each day, as it goes out from us, is a leaf folded back in silence [[for]]? the great & momentous book of the past.
