I am just getting over some of my little sick spells and as I do not feel strong enough to be engaged in active service around the house I thought I would improve my time by writing a few words to you.  Amelia Evens is year helping us for a few days this week so we are getting along nicely. Mary has been sewing for us about two weeks since you have been away so we have had a nice start with [[our?]] dress sewing.  [[unclear]] started We’d. morning. and in the afternoon they killed the pig  and today Mother and Thomas are salting it.

[[unclear]] Amelia has promised to come and help us with our serving once in a while this winter. We expect her next week - she and Sarah will make comfortable first. 
We had a letter from John a few days since - he wishes us to send Robbie when we have a good opportunity- he will perhaps go with John M. Jones, who is [[unclear]] -
of his time in [[Arvonica?]] and is expected home for a short visit soon - Brother Eddie is about going to housekeeping - has invited Anna there Christmas -
