Fresh Fort of the Brazos.

MacKenzie is going out again, as soon as he can get ready - about June 12. He advices making his Camp at the point marked /\\, on the Enclosed tracing on Fresh Fort of Brazos, it is almost Equally distant from Concho and Griffin.
From this point, he hopes to stop depredations into Texas, Except those coming direct from the reservation, and also to break up the cattle traffic into New Mexico by this route.
If the traffic on the route by Quita-que can be stopped also, there is an End to it, as these are the only two, across the Staked Plains known. I am informed that, after MacKenzie went out last year, that no Indians came into Texas from the North.
                                                   I am, very respectfully

Colonel,

Enclosed please find Special Orders No. 102, directing you to establish a camp on the Fresh Fort of the Brazos. The Quartermaster here cannot get his quota of teams to Concho by the 17th, probably the 25th. It is thought best however, that you proceed from Griffin, the date specified on the Order, if you can get your new arms in time. If not, delay until your Carbines are Exchanged.
You should take with you from Griffin, sufficient Cattle, to
