Chicago July 13th, 1864

Dear Papa I have just received your letter from Washington, also one from Aunt Butler at Homewood saying that Het Wilkins is very unwell, and would like to come here if she could get her fathers consent. Perhaps you could way? him to let her come or perhaps he's be willing if he knew she had so good an opportunity as this is. Try your best Lemmy for I love Het and have always been trying to get her out here; I do hope you'll succeed, then he? I did'not.
