Dear Jack - I haven't heard from you in such a long time, and am concerned. Are you OK? Did you get my letter sent about 4 months ago?... Your silence is disconcerting!

I often wonder whether Professor Douglas Wixson ever finished the collection of your stories? (Is he still

teaching at the University of Missouri, Jack?)

 Cindy and I underline just /underline saw THE COLOR PURPLE, and we are wondering if you saw it?

It was certainly a memorable experience - and an emotionally draining one. The performances were extraordinary - especially that of Whoopi Goldberg.
