105 moment we had turned in, out was blown the light; the daughter crept into a bed in one corner, the parents in another & the brother opposite to us. This was a badly arranged establishment. 14th. Journeyed onwards to within 8 miles of Swartwout where my friend settled ^some business had come upon^ this for we returned back to W___ s settlement that night; it was late, but we had omitted looking out for the 'Blazed Trees' & thus lost our road for a while. 15th. During the night raining torrents - after breakfast it still continued to pour down so that not wanting to have a wet ride we remained, amused with our hosts adventures & with the Coshaties, Bidais, Kickapoos, Muskougs, etc. who inhabit these parts.
