Had a very pleasant visit Tuesday from Laura and Norine, also Laura's mother and sister Grace. They drove out in the Scott's Ford and arrived about 1 o'clock, bringing their lunch with them. They had a big loaf of bread, some cheese, boiled ham, pickles and cookies. I furnished chocolate cake, canned peaches and coffee. After lunch we sat in the living room and talked (had a fire in the grate) and afterwards took a walk around the block and went through one of the new houses at Park & Hillside. They left at 4 o'clock.

Made a lovely pie yesterday out of some of our own pieplant. This is the first gathering of the season. Noticed yesterday that the sweet peas are coming up. Very tiny so far but have hopes that they will thrive. Want to get some more planted in a sunnier place. Those two bushes make the east side almost too shady. Discovered the Montessori hand

Dear Mum:

Enclosed find $10.00 as suggested in my previous letter.
