Dec 31st - 4 a.m Dear May, For a full week I've been trying to get a chance to write to you, but many things have prevented - a series of four visitors of special importance to our work, all sorts of holiday doings for the old folk here, (As for me, 40 years ago I resolved to boycott the Xmas - New Year's mass insanity 100% and I've heroically stuck to that resolution and many friends are secretly grateful to me - "There's one person we don't have to send something to.") - also some too-long-delayed "spring" planting etc. So I got out of bed early this am especially to get this off to you and to say, primo, that we we beg you by all means to come and see us, as you said
