Our Lord met with this form as an Element of hostility to his work and was the Chief inspiration which led to his Crucifixion.  We attach great reverence and authority to the sayings and doings of our fathers not thinking perhaps that their views and beliefs were received in modified forms from their ancestors and that we are swallowing without stoping to taste a mixed cup of human prejudices colored perhaps by a few grains of truth.  Ch. membership
