Dear Mary I am up here making a couple of speeches & as lonesome as hell. Little Jay towns & Jay people who never heard of Nietszche or any one else excepting Jesus. What is the use. The radicals are fools you never can do any thing with the people except to let them wiggle along through the ages It isnt worth while to butt your head against a stone wall - but still I am blue & lonesome tonight & I wish I could see you so I would be bluer & not so lonesome - but "Even the weariest river winds some when safely to sea" And the sea is death and annihilation (over)
