Christi among the Volunteers - too many want to command - It is not judicious to have Volunteers inactive - keep them into action - if not they add to the plagues in a Country - viz lawyers, Doctors, parsons, politicians & Mosquitos. | |||

The Extraordinary Session of Congress meets on [?Monday?] next at Houston - Some soldier [?parties?] are for invasion of Mexico by land - With what force - we have in this country & Volunteers from the States. Then the naval party say - We are ready for Sea & can manage to be in readiness in a few days - We will blockade & annoy these ports - thus we should draw off troops from the frontier to the coast...Some think we go the whole | |||
