A few hundred yards from the church is the battle ground of the "Gross fight" on the 28th Octr 1835. under Bowie & Fannin. There were 92 Texans against 360 Mexicans. The ornaments on the door way & windows of the Sacristy or vestry still show much exquisite work & labour had been bestowed upon them. On the tower of the church is the date of 1781 probably the year it was finished. There is only one bell | ||
