And often, when I am led astray, and am almost ready to murmur at the ways of providence, because I cannot see the great design of God in sending them, have I been checked by His long-suffering and gracious mercy, teaching me that I am wrong, and gently drawing me back to him; and I have been forced to exclaim, how wonderful, Oh God, is they forbearing love, and how great are all thy tender mercies which thou art daily manifesting toward us. Still, through all this, my hard heart has remained so cold and thankless. Oh, we never, never
