is to visit Chaplin. What is jelling in my mind, Fred, is the necessity to finish Neuhaus' projected book. I have talked to my director, Martin Wagner, who is sympathetic to labor history. I have told him that as soon as I get the library job under control I'll want time off to write a book. So we'll see what happens.

You can see, Fred, why I became sick. I'm running a fair sized library, have two assistants on separate bibliographies, keep students like David Wrone and [[Marion Ascareli?]], and try to pursue my own studies.  It was in NY that I picked up the flu bug that laid me low.

Just a word on Wrone. He has already learned that Carl Person is alive in Chi and a meeting is arranged. My interest here it to push history students into labor history. A fault in our industrial [[relations? ]] approach is too much technology and not enuf perspective.

I have raced thru this letter like a house-a-fire. I'll be in Chicago Feb 3-5 with  Louanne for a folk festival at U of Chi. I'll bring her up to visit.

4 is to visit Chaplin.

I'm running a fair sized library, have two assistants on separate bibliographies, help students like David Wrone and Marion Ascareli, and try to pursue my own studies. It was in NY that I picked up the flu bug that laid me low.

Just a word on Wrone. He has already learned that Carl Person is alive in Chi and a meeting is arranged. My interest here it to push history students into labor history. A fault in our industrial relations approach is too much technology and not enuf perspective.

I have raced thru this letter like a house-a-fire. I'll be in Chicago Feb 3-5 with Louanne for a folk festival at U of Chi. I'll bring her up to visit.
