Dear Sarah
Perhaps you thought that I never was going to answer your letter. But I did for I commenced to write to you a few days after yours came, and then it was mislaid. About a week after I was looking over my papers and I saw it as I took it to finish it but it was lain aside again and after that I was ashamed to send it. I have said ever as many times "why Mary we must write to Sarah Everett" but it was not done and that is the only excuse that I have. Miss Rogers is here now spending a day or so.
