Without faith it is impossible to please him. Without this [[lin.g?]] principle, which implies a knowledge of God, as a being of spotless purity & perfection & a love to him for his whole character & delight to serve him, without such an operative faith in God, our Worship & external devotion is but as a lifeless [[careass?]] & is rejected.
