Sarah's S.S. class recited the first Sabbath to Thos Evans — The next they staid out by the door and last Sab. in rained — Maggie comes into my class and last Sunday Lydia Evans and Robbie came in too. Mr. Owens asked Cynthia to hear the class and if it seems best she will do so. I told Mr. O. that he had better have one of the men teach the boys and I would take the girls into my class but he does not quite like that idea now. I try to keep you informed as to what we do about it. My class is pretty large — Katie Griffiths is teaching in the select school in Prospect now. — Caroline was in church two weeks ago - when father preached yesterday father went up to Penymynydd and preached in Griffith Williams funeral Miss Roberts preached in Welsh — they wanted Mr. Phillips but he did not get home till father and Mr. R. were just ready to start then Mr. R tried to get Mr. P to go in his place but he was tired and not prepared — Cynthia and I went to the village to attend the funeral of Lina Griffiths' brother Charley who died at Didymus Thomas' last Monday night. — We thought an account of the two funerals there would be no church meeting but there was a little one — Mr. P went, John Owens wife, Thomas Evans and wife and Mrs. Hugh Thomas were also there and I staid and took tea at John Pugh's with Maria — Isabel has been boarding here this week and helping Mary sew - Jane Ann |
