Came to Emmitsburg (23 miles) raining all day went to a house to buy some bread. The people's name was waters, a son was a student at Carlisle & a Θ𝝙X. Robert Arman lives in town, is a Dr.They said he could not sell us any but wanted us to stay for supper. Got a supper found they would not take anything for it. |

SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 1863. Started early and marched through the village of Jefferson, and the town of Middletown and camped a mile north. This is considerable of a town. Saw Lieut Jim Chalfont? of 2nd Div 1st Corps Are camped in a large barn SUNDAY 28 Stayed in the barn until about 6 PM where we marched 8 miles again 9P.M stoped with a mile of Frederick City.
