I have been told that it was the intention of the Editors of the Panoplist to publish the journal which I kept in my late tour into Canada. It is with solicitude I request you, my Honoured Sir, if this be the case, to see that the part which respects the meeting & doings of the Protestant association be left out, for this reason, the meeting was secret; as those who attended did not wish that the design of their coming together should be known to their Brethren, who profess to be Roman Catholics. | |||
It is my opinion, if it should be published, that it will do more hurt then good; as several copies of the Panoplist go regularly into Canada among the Romish Clergy, through the medium the Rev. Dr. Matignon, or some other person in Boston. | |||
I have several small religious tracts by me (of my own translation) in the Iroquois language; — and I wish to know by you Sir, whether any of them can be printed at the expence of "the Massachusetts Society for promoting christian knowledge." | |||
