Saturday, February 6, 1864 Marched soon after day light hour? Div unclear advance, and arrived within 2 miles of Racoon Ford at 12pM. Stoped & made ourselves as comfortable as possible by putting up tents. Considerable firing on the line.
Sunday 7 Went down to the river or rather to two unclear. Could see reds in the fortifications on the other side ____ after dark and came on the double? quick to camp unclear about 8 P.M. pretty? well tired out
