At this & the last mentioned Delaware town, they received us by giving off a great many guns, especially at the last place. We had saluted the towns by firing off four pair of pistols. Arrived that evening in Loystown, we saluted the town as before, & they the Indians fired above 100 guns, & great rejoicing appeared in their countenances. From the
