Leaving this wild & interesting spot we passed along the brink of the chasm & through a quaking asp thicket for about a mile when the trail suddenly dived down into its depths. I had sent Joe forward a half hour before & when he met me he was in despair. It was truly impassible for we could with difficulty get down | ||
