I see in the newspapers, that said J.G.E.l has lately invented a sort of Iron pavement for City streets, & sold out the rights for $100.000.00 Pretty well for the chap -- considering that he was poor as dirt, and we did not consider him very smart either! | ||
Mother thought one of Charles' reasons for remaining here through the summer -- that peaches would be ripe here by & bye -- quite ridiculous, when his wife was so anxious to see him at home. Well tell her he has got finely paid for it; there is, & is likely to be, no peaches here this year. Mother says that I am to bring you & Mayo there again this Fall.
