When he began in Court house Square, he could hardly be heard by those next to him, he was so hoarse, but after a little his voice began to come till there was no need of going to hear him.  He could be heard all over town. At least any where about the Square.  After him Hon? H.G. Blake, M. C. for this district. (Judge Bliss' successor) spoke a little and then John C. Underwood of Virginia, who is really a fine? speaker  In spite of the rainy Morning there was a great crowd.  Our New S.S. Library was on hand, or partly so, this morning for the first time.  The Ladies Society amused us some.
