The animal stood on three legs for several weeks. The farrier [[unclear]] poulticed and otherwise treated it believing it would come out well if not entirely sound but the animal begun to show signs of complications and rapidly lost flesh & strength Evidently blood poisoning - resulting in the beast being unable to use its hind legs so could not get up or stand when assisted to its feet. And as a matter of humanity it was shot to end possible needless suffering. | ||
