Dear Brother Jos. Mrs. Lee informed us that Moses is going Wednes. and said she would send him down to take letters for us if we wished to send; so I'll take the opportunity to write some, though I am, as usual hurried. Mrs. L says Moses is much pleased with the idea of going. I hope he won't be homesick- he is a bright little boy, and I think, just what you want. Do be very kind and loving to him, especially at first while he is a "stranger in a strange land." Because for he is a motherless boy, and in a sense fatherless - his father has very little care over his children in any way - don't know much about them. He had a good Mother - an uncommon one, but has been under very bad influence since her death. You must train him, kindly, and make him what he would have been if his mother had lived. Henry is a very bad boy. I sent a letter to you week before last of by Naomi Hill of which you have made no mention, and which I fear you did not receive. She offered to take them, and I supposed would see Ann, or put them in the Office. I rec'd a letter from Isaac last Sat. mailed the same day we mailed one to him about the engineering business. We found he would not receive it before leaving Brunswick.
