in thanks for deliverance from perils, from the awful plague which averaged a mortality of from 60 per cent to 70% of souls a day, yes from my heart I felt that only the hand of providence had lead me safely through that plague spot. I did not go to the communion, though I thought I would for in my heart I have no creed or issues (I feel like father did on that subject.) but I communed with my Lord in my heart and communed with my father in the spirit for I know he knows. I can not get the sight of Siboney out of my mind, it is so impressed on my memory and so burned in my brain that I see those white tents glaring in the sun on that coast of Cuba whenever I turn. The hospital ship sails on the 29th from Santiago to Long Island - suppo- sedly - with all of the sick except those who are Yellow Fever Suspects, the convalescent or in the last stage of Yellow Fever will be removed from SIboney, from that awful scene of woe and pain forevermore. Those who have experienced its perils and found deliverance therefrom will praise God forevermore.
