as they have not any fence so that she had no time to make cloth, (of the little wool she had), to clothe her family which they very much need- but since their crops were gathered in she has worked & has got a good long web of cloth done which will fit them all up nicely - he rais'd 100 bushels of oats & their prospects brighten considerably  - now for the brightest side of this picture which I suppose you will say is not very bright, they all seem very healthy and happy, more than we can say of probably any millionaires, five boys bounding about in joyous boisterous mirth, any of them fit for Governor, possibly  some future day. I guess I've said enough about the Rickers.

  Mrs. Lee says she did not come by your house that they thought some of riding down there but now so circumstances that they could not have stay'd more than half an hour was very sorry etc. Mrs. Hannah Brown Morrell died at Watersville, or somewhere away there, was brought home, burried yesterday. Is not it sad & distressing that we have no prospect of any preaching if you know where Mr. Temple is do think of us, & pray for us. Mr. Lee & Mr. Sargent are both going away what shall we do - not a Male member of the Congregational Church left in town excepting your Father Furber & he is going

The reputation of the Dear Islanders for honesty etc. is nearly equal to that of Algerenes or Arabs and has been well sustained in my dealing with them. What has Margaret gone to Boston for. Have you heard from Hannah Moore. If to be found in your precint, please send at your convenience with Cowper Les Aventures de Telemaque and cloth for another pr of Cotton Shirts
