I hope to get some who live in the vicinity of any school, but it is uncertain. I am going to get some more cards and get Col Metcalf for reference. I have joined a young ladies' sewing circle lately the object of which is to clothe poor children on condition of their attending Sabbath School. the Society consists of 30 youngs and meet once a month and sew in evening a member pays 25 per year and a fine of 6 1/4 for every absence from meeting I am Sec and have the doings at each meeting to write off and a yearly response to make the meetings for sewing are opened with prayer and closed with singing & it it is a standing rule that no young lady shall refuse to open the meeting if called upon. Is it not a good rule? Almeda does not know that I am going to send this morning; you must write soon what your conclusion's about Isaac and advise me what I had better do about paying for an addition five or changing my boarding. I am becoming more and more known, and the success of my school depends some upon the impressions that are formed about my respectability etc. I have bought me a large plaid shawl (4,50), & am very glad I can't do without it, they will be worn very late if not all winter Olive has spent a day with us this week, she is trying to sell Pel's clothes to get a miniature of him, [image] Ann has written what she knows to be absolutely false in several particulars for instance I never said I write not answer your letter but that as you had mentioned 1.00 or 1.25 for Isaac's board that I could not or should not tell what I thought it would cost us and I never told more to her about the cost than to say that I thought it would cost as much or more than for her and that it cost every cent of 125 for her with regard to Lucy
