morning we set out eairly and proceeded

islands and fishing camps where
the natives had a large quantity of
pounded fish the best of their
sommon pounded up and put
in small stacks along the
shore for winter & cover them
with straw and pile the stone
around them.  the solid clifts continue
on each side.  saw a little scattering
pine timber on the hills on
each side of the river  some places

Monday 21 Oct. 1805 a clear cold
