           I suppose you would like to know that those fire fraims were received. Well they came to hand about two weeks scince, not in good order however, they were all three of them broken. Haskell's was broken Square across the Cap, can be [[straped?]] two were both broken in the fronts. I have managed however to set them. I think they had been rough handled, but in the first place were badly packed. was not packing enough between the plates, they bore uppon each other, and that not eveanly. I am however exceedingly glad to receive mine even as they are, they are an new article in the west. I wonder that our western founderys do not cast them. I think many of them would be used, if they could be obtained conveniently, mine are much admired. The charges on the box when they arrived at Point Douglass were only $9.45
