'Let him that thinks he standeth take heed lest he fall.' We are often nearest danger, when least sensible of it. I write this admonition to you, not because I do not need the same watchfulness and prayer, - perhaps more not that I have not equal reason to fear, lest I fall; but because we all need incitements to duty, need to be on our guard against the insidious, flattering encroachments of sin: - we need to bring and keep before our minds the object for which we have professed to love, and we need daily and hourly to ask ourselves the question, how shall I best attain this object? How shall I best glorify God?
