21st--Another bright day and a pleasant breeze, the "norther" still keeps the Steamers from leaving.One small row boat has just come ashore, it looks as if it might upset every minute--the harbor is full of sharks watching & waiting for their dinner. We leave to night for City of Mexico.

22nd--Spent last Evening with the Consul's family & at 11 1/2 o clock took the train for Mexico--Through the Kindness of the Consul, we were enabled to secure a Compartment to ourselves, which gave us plenty of room for sleeping &  moving around--This [[road?]] was built by the English & is owned now by [[them?]], Mexico gave them the right
