We took a long walk tonight & passed through a very beautiful but small park which so far seems to me to be the only breathing place in the City as the streets are quite narrow, & houses built close up to each other having more the appearance of dungeons as there were so many barred or close shutters on the windows.  All the streets are paved with cobble stones, with a drain running through the middle, the buildings are of stone or brick flat roofed & most of them covered with tiles--The great walls are ;[[Unclear]] of [[Unclear]] at best made of bricks & mortar.
