Foggy and sun and rain and a North East wind, very changeable we are all well, I went to church with Sheridan and Thomas Shreve, after church stopped at the Harveys and inquired after the children, found all well then went to Mrs Stone,s to ask after her sick child [[note left margin: Hoyt Stone]] and learned he was dying, at about the time he died from a fall on his head, he was 14 months old, and her new baby is only three days old. Mrs Gen Drew has a daughter born at 11, O,clock this [[note left margin: Gen Drew]] morning. at five O,clock I driving with Edward Mr Angell, took Hunt with me. Mrs Badger and Shreve gone out to his Father,s. Mrs Hunt came to see me to day. he leaves from Louisville to night [[note left margin: Hunt]] Mr Badger all morning out with Mrs Hunt driving. Monday May 24 1875 This has been a lovely day, all of us well, I went with early to get a seamstress. I will try [[note left margin: Hannah Olsen]] and see if she can work well. I went with Miss Yager to get some flowers for Mrs Stone,s baby. then returned and took lunch. then went out with Hunt to Father Badger,s to see Horace,s new baby. My Sheridan & shreve are to be pall bearers for Mrs Stone,s baby. Dr Small came to see Eva, she has a cold. Mrs Hugh Adams [[note left margin: Gillette]] and Miss Adams called to day. Mr Badger and I are invited to Mrs Gillette to a tea party on Thursday. Mr Hunt went to Louisville last night. Tuesday May 25, 1875 This has been a beautiful day but cool. all of us [[note left margin: Stone buried]] well. at ten O,clock I went to the funeral of Mrs Stone's baby Hoyt, 17 months old. died from a fall. Sheridan and Shreve were pall bearers, [[note left margin: Belle arrived +]] I went down town and found that Belle had arrived with her three children her baby has been sick with cold. Ada stayed in Louisville Mrs James Morton came to see me. so did Alice Hilton, I went over and stayed awhile with Mrs Leiter, after lunch I went with Hunt and took dinner with Belle. my new girl came to day. |
