Sewing Julia came to see us. also Sophia. | Sewing Julia came to see us. also Sophia. both old white servantas of ours. Mattie Sheridan came to see is. I saw Rhoda at the door Mr Wastell gave Ada & Sheridan a dancing lesson to day. I went to Masonic Temple to see a little girl dance who Mr Mastell is learning for the stage. took children with me. her name Alice Hogen. ten years old. received a letter from Mr Badger he in Chicago. Eliza Nock called & Mrs Claytor. also Mrs Robt Bell. after tea David and I went to see Hunts. | ||

It looks like rain | It looks like rain is beginning & reception day. Mrs Hunt & Mr Harrison called - also Mrs Sam Hamilton. Mrs Henry Morton Mrs L.L. Shreve. Miss Brown & Sallie Carter Mrs Floyd and Mrs Tucker. Mrs Capt Carter wants to give the children a party, and Mollie Van Buren will give them one Friday night her invitations came to day engraved with Belle & Eva's name on them. Mr Hunt called with Sallie. Eliza Morton & Eva Quigley called to see my children. So did Dora Coleman. we went out riding late this evening there are five parties to be given to my children. | ||

bought new | bought new tartelons for my children to day - to be trimmed with fowers [sic] Weather very warm. we all well. Mrs Merriwhether called - it rained all day very much. Virginia & I went out in her carriage shopping. bought Boquets and Fans for Tuckers children. we dressed the four children - and ourselves and took Mattie Shreve with us and went to Mrs Tuckers. had a splendid evening. my children received much attention - decided Belles of the evening. We returned home late. Mattie Belle Shreve was the beauty of the evening - she danced so well -- four years old - Sheridan & Ada received much attention. | ||

It has cleared up and sun shining to day | It has cleared up and sun shining to day - we all well - Siss here with her baby. Mrs Floyds children called. so did the Marshalls and Furgesons. at four we arranged the children, I and Mrs Tuckers Sons Henry & Lou called to take them to Miss Van Burens party. they went late on account of their new dresses being not finished a fire broke out in our neighborhood at nine O. clocck. but did not do much damage. I sat up for the children untill two O.clock. retired at three. | ||

Sister Belle here with her children. at five we dressed all the children pretty and sent them to the party - Namely, James, Ada, Sheridan & Mattie Faulds. later we went and took Belle & Eva with us had a pleasant evening | ||
