All the children gone driving with Aunt Virginia.  Mrs Eaches called with her baby.  Misses Thompsons called also Mrs Davis Mrs Heywood & children.  at three Sister Virginia Mattie & James and my four children -- also Mattie Belle & Tom all went to Mr Wartell,s dancing school. children all danced -- Belle & Eva commenced to take music lessons from Mr Gunter to day.  received a letter from Pa to day -- he in New York.  Also received a letter from Mr Badger.  Tuckers children called to see mine. so did Mary Thompson
Sunday Sept 27
It is a lovely day.  we all well -- went to Christ church  took all the children -- saw Mrs Barrets baby baptised.  after church called to see Mrs Sam Page -- an old acquaintance  she just recovered from illness. her son Edward married
Monday Sept 28th
It is a lovely day -- all well.  we went riding. at twelve Sister Belle came round to see us -- with her five weeks old baby -- first time  Dr Rogers called to see me -- so did Mr & Mrs Trabue. Mrs Charles Tucker called to tell me that she wanted me to give her the names of some children -- she wanted to give my children a party.  I went to see her.

Teusday Sept 22nd 1863.

It is warm to day -- Sarah,s baby boy died suddenly this morning of spasms. it five weeks old. was buried well. I went to see Siss. after dinner we all took a ride and went to see Siss Dr we dined with her -- there is a Government band plays lovely airs on Siss,s corner. Dr Rogers called to see me. also Mrs Jane

Wednesday Sept 23rd

More beautiful weather. we all well -- Sarah,s baby was buried to day -- I went to see Siss Mrs Edmonds and Miss Finley called to see me -- at four we went to drive called to see Siss

Thursday Sept 24th

This has been a beautiful warm day -- my children all out walking. Virginia and I went riding called to see Siss. at nine O. clock David ordered his Carriage and he and I went to Col Looneys party -- given to her Neice Mrs Gen Boyle just married. I met many familliar faces -- ladies all dressed beautifully and looked very handsome. Supper very nice -- returned at twelve.
