Saturday, 12. Warm as usual. Recd letters this morning-one from Sister Libbie & one from Sherman. Answered Shermans letter. Rode out as far as Harts with Col Peebles-had a pleasant time. At night called upon Col Risden. Genl came while was there. Things are becoming interesting. Damnably so! Expedition of boats from up river | Friday, 11.
