As it rains today and is so unpleasant I think mother may not go home till tomorrow- so I write you the first letter. chilly wet day so I have not been to see Mrs. Jones, - tell Mary Jane the nut-cakes are just what John Eddie likes and I only wish we had made some cookies too - it seems that the fame of Steuben cookies has reached the great city- that wrapper which Mary Jane took so much pains to wash and iron got nicely soaked with vinegar - the first jar Anna filled was inside of it- I believe the other did not leak- Mary is very much obliged to Anna and all - she wishes Sara and Wm could could come and stay with her a while and try the air - Hope Wm is better than when we left - How did Frank get home?
